Simplers Organic Essential Oils

What does organic mean?

The term "certified organic" means that a USDA accredited organization (for us California Certified Organic Farmers or CCOF) has verified that our products meet the standards established by the National Organic Program (NOP).

  • Accountability and standards
  • Pure and natural products
  • Organic farming practices

Simplers uses batch numbers on the labels of our finished products so we can trace the source of our ingredients back to the original farm. Organic farmers work to create a balanced and sustainable farming system. Organic means that the products have no hidden synthetic ingredients, do not contain genetically modified organisms and the manufacturing facilities have passed certification inspections. And organic also means that the farmers have a concern for the future of the land on which they farm.

Why choose organic essential oils?

Organic farming produces herbs and plants that are free of pesticides, herbicides and their residues. Organic also means that no genetically modified organisms (GMO's) are used. Extracting essential oils from modified or chemically treated plants will produce essential oils with traces of these elements and less than pure results. To be truly effective, essential oils must be absolutely pure. Non organic, synthetic, adulterated or improperly distilled oils, although less expensive, will not provide the same desirable effects and may even have adverse effects. Without knowing the sources, non organic essential oils may contain many neutral and unnatural additives.

Another important feature of using organic plants is that organic plants grow without the aid of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Some of the important constituents found in plants are produced to fight pests. Many of these defense mechanisms are essential oils. In that same vein, it can be argued that pampered plants need not be as self reliant and may not grow to be as hardy. Organic soil has been shown to provide more nutrients to the plant, and much is being written in the press about the vitality of organic plants.

Organic farming is gentler on the environment, encourages a diverse habitat for birds and animals, protects the quality of water, provides a safer workplace for farmers and produces plants that offer the natural full spectrum of healing constituents. Organic farming encourages farmers to take an active role in the quality of their crops and farmers are rewarded with premium prices for their crops. Certified organic companies like Simplers create a direct link from farm to consumer by tracking and marking all products with batch numbers.

Organic Certification

According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the National Organic Program (NOP), organic on the label means that the contents are made from at least 95% organic ingredients. Organic also implies that the farmers and handlers of that product meet strict standards and have been certified by a USDA accredited agency.

Simplers is certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF). Simplers Botanical Company meets the National Organic Standards established by the USDA / National Organic Program (NOP) for handling.
