Aromatherapy for the Holidays

Essential Oils can be used creatively to scent your home, make holiday gifts, boost immunity and soothe the body. Here are a few ideas:

Energizing/Muscle-Soothing Bath Salts: Add 4 drops Pine and 6 drops Frankincense to ½ cup Epsom Salt.

Holiday Scented Room Spray: Add 25 drops Orange and 3 drops Clove to 4 ounces of water in a glass or aluminum spray bottle. Shake well before use.

Jet-Lag/Long Drive Pick-Me-Up: Put 1-2 drops Peppermint on a tissue and inhale.

Topical Myrrh Rub: Warm bottle of Myrrh in hand or pocket. Mix 10-15 drops into 1oz Jojoba oil or your favorite cream. Apply to soothe rough and dry scalp, feet or hands.

Restful Sleep: Add 12 drops Roman Chamomile or Spikenard to 1oz carrier oil (sesame is best) and massage into soles of feet and collarbone area before bed. Add 6 drops Frankincense for extra support.

Respiratory/Sinus Support: Add 3-5 drops Pine to a pot of hot water and cover head and pot with a towel. Close eyes and inhale slowly for 2-5 minutes. Also works well in a diffuser.

Muscle & Joint-Soothing Massage Oil: Add 15 drops Orange, 10 drops Frankincense & 3 drops Cinnamon Leaf to 2oz Jojoba oil.

Natural “Face Lift”: Mix 20 drops Frankincense, 4 oz of distilled water, and a teaspoon of vegetable glycerin or aloe vera gel in a spray bottle. Shake well before each use. Close eyes & mist face.

Digestive Aid: Add 1 drop each Orange & Cinnamon Leaf to a teaspoon of Jojoba or other carrier oil and massage clockwise over abdomen.
